Biography

Sang-Hwan Lee is a professor of international relations at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (HUFS) who was a Dean of Student Affairs and a President of Research & Industry-University Foundation. He was a Director of Global Politics Institute and a Vice-President of Korean Political Science Association. Also, he was a President of Korean Association of Political Science & Communication. Dr. Lee was an advisory committee member of Presidential Office and joined in an advisory committee of Ministry of Unification. Also, he has worked as an associate editor of International Area Studies Review published by Sage Publication in cooperation with HUFS and PRIO (Peace Research Institute Oslo, Norway) since 2012. He received his Ph.D. from Michigan State University, and has taught at Changwon National University and HUFS since 1997. During the period of 2016-2017, he, as a fulbright senior research program scholar, worked with Asian Studies Center at Michigan State University. Now he is a Dean of Graduate School of Politics, Government & Communication at HUFS and a President of Korean Association of International Studies. His primary research interests are on international political economy, the US-Korea relations, human security, and East Asian Politics. He has published his research papers in Korea Observer, Pacific Focus, International Area Studies Review, Journal of East Asian Affairs, Korean Journal of Area Studies, Journal of American Studies, and etc.
